Hello,

While uploading my radio shows records, I could not select "Radio Program" as audio category. I had no choice but place them under "Community audio". Is it possible to move them to "Radio Program" ? How can I do that.

archive.org/details/PlaneteIndie2013

Thank you.

you would need a collection under radio programs. to have a collection you first need to have created 50 item pages and then request a collection.

Hello Jeff.

I have now slightly more than 50 radio shows archived on archive.org, split under several containers :

archive.org/details/PlaneteIndie2012
archive.org/details/PlaneteIndie2013
archive.org/details/PlaneteIndie2014
archive.org/details/PlaneteIndie2015
archive.org/details/PlaneteIndie2016

Can you create a collection for me (name it "Planete Indie") and place it under Radio Programs ?
Many thanks.

PIerre

what you call "containers" are "items" in archive.org parlance. so you have 5 items and need 50 for a collection.

So, it means that if I create 1 item for each podcast that I have uploaded, I will qualify for a collection, but if I group my podcast in yearly items, I do not. Right ?

that's correct. and, if you do that try to add unique metadata to each item such as date, description, subject, etc.

Ok. Thank you for your quick and complete answer.
So, when I have 50 records, I will make a request for a collection.

In the meantime, I have another problem / question (and I do not find the link anymore to create a new post... :-(
So I post it here...
It's about linking to files from an outside web site.

The situation is : I have uploaded records of my radio show, which I would like to make available to the guests of my website. I use a flash player. I am using the address
http://archive.org/download/PlaneteIndie2013/PlaneteIndie20130720.mp3 for instance.

When I try to link in html with a href code, it works fine, but when I try to configure my embedded flash player with these addresses (playlist), it fails.
The format is supported, since when I use my local copy, it plays.

Any suggestion ? Where is the problem lying ?
It is not the file format, it does not seem to be the address of the file, and the configuration file mentioning the urls of the files seems ok…
Thank you for your help.

i'm not sure i know what the issue is. could be your player or site. that url (which is the correct one to use) is archival and will never change but, it does trigger a redirect to the server where the file lives when the request is made. some sites/players don't like redirects and consider it a security issue.

but as i said, i'mnot sure if that's the issue.

Well, this is something to consider. I will ask the developer of the player if it might cause this blockage.
Thank you for the hint !
